Day eleven (wednesday June - 6)
Wednesday:
Today we followed advice from Samantha Brown and went to see the Molly farms. This is a farm that was owned by Molly a long time ago and they have kept the original house and farmland pretty much intact. She was wellknown for her crafts but mostly for her homemade "poitin" which is like a moonshine and is 60% alcohol. They still make it even though it is illegial in Ireland, but they were grandfathered in. We bought a smal bottle and had a sip of it to try it out. It is really strong and my lips were numb before I got the sip completely in my mouth! LOL! But it actually did not taste that bad.
So we checked out the farmlands and old items around. Then we headed off to another place that had stones and other druid ruins. The main hill was horrendous to climb up! It was probably more than a 45 degree angle straight up. We did not know that it was going to be this way until we were already on the hill. However, the views over the villages were amazing.
