Day thirteen (friday June - 8)
Friday:
Today we decided to go to Bunratty Castle right outside of Limerick. Some locals consider it a "tourist trap" place but we really enjoyed it. Instead of just a castle, a whole villiage was created to give the whole experience of how the castle would have been used and looked like. So all the houses in the little village has thatched roofing and fireplaces. They tried to stay as authentic as possible.
The castle itself was amazing. They still had the furniture from the last king that used it so it was interesting to walk through a "complete" castle with furnishings and tapestries, etc. It was the biggest "complete" castle we had gone through so it took us a while to go up the winding stairs to each of the 4 towers.
After Bunratty's Castle, we decided to venture over to the coast to a little town called Kilkee. It was a long drive as is usual for Ireland but it was nice to get there and just hang out at the beach. We were cheesy again and wrote our names in the sand. :-)
We headed back to the hotel and started getting everything packed for our return trip tomorrow.
