Day Seven (saturday June - 2)
Saturday:
We decided to sleep in a little today and did not get downstairs to eat until 12pm so we just had lunch. We then headed over to Blarney Castle. It rained for most of today but not heavy so it was still nice. We walked all throughout the castle and even got to kiss the Blarney stone. With all the rain and the security, we figured we were safe to kiss it! LOL!
Then we walked around the grounds and even explored the dungeon. The area beside the castle was beautiful. These were the kings gardens and it was obvious that these were meant for a king! There was a plant that had HUGE leaves and the trees were all lined up in rows.
After the castle, we had an ice cream at the local cafe shop then went exploring around the town. We stopped into a few shops and bought some souvenirs. Then we went across the street and had dinner at a Thai restaurant. It was early for dinner so we had the whole place to ourselves! The food was great! I had Massiman Curry Chicken and Riley had Pad Thai. We followed it up with dessert - coconut ice cream in a coconut shell for me and orange sorbet in an actual orange for Riley. Great food and presentation.
We walked a little more around the area then headed back to the hotel.
